Simon O’Neal’s causing trouble again. And it’s up to Gail DeMarco to stop him.
Gail DeMarco left Whiskey Creek, California, to make a name for herself in Los Angeles. Her PR firm has accumulated a roster of A-list clients, including the biggest box office hit of all—sexy and unpredictable Simon O’Neal. But Simon, who’s just been through a turbulent divorce, is so busy self-destructing he won’t listen to anything she says. She drops him from her list—and he retaliates by taking the rest of her clients with him.
Desperate to save her company, Gail has to humble herself by making a deal with Simon. The one thing he wants is custody of his son, but that’s going to require a whole new image. He needs to marry some squeaky-clean girl who’ll drag him off to some small, obscure place like Whiskey Creek….
Gail’s the only one he can trust. She agrees to become his wife—reluctantly. But she isn’t reluctant because he’s too hard to like. It’s because he’s too hard not to love!
This book’s about marriage contract between a trouble maker actor with his publicist. Actually it’s not a new idea, but somehow I love this kind of love story because there’ll be a lot of interaction between them.
A trouble maker actor named Simon O’Neal had to leave his agency because her publicist, Gail DeMarco couldn’t handle his attitude anymore and drop him from her agency. But it made her lost clients, so she had to make a deal with Simon’s manager. The manager asked her to marry Simon in order to save Simon image and help him get child custody of his son from his previous marriage.
For long story short, Simon and Gail finally got married despite Gail’s father and brother didn’t like Simon. Their marriage life begin and they had to deal with their own ego and some problems in the future. They also had to deal with the feeling they had for each other. Of cousre it’s not easy because there’re some eople who didn’t like their happiness and try to ruin it in so many ways.
Honestly I think the couple rather lack of chemistry. I don’t like the way Gail argued with Simon about the marriage arrangement. It took a lot of pages and didn’t solve anything. Even until they married, Gail’s still in doubt about physical contact with her husband.
Gail’s love for his childhood crush made her confused even though she’d like to interact with Simon physically. Her hate for her friend in the past made her looked so childish but all people in Whiskey Creek did the same #sigh.
For Simon, his character’s developed good enough, even though I wondered why he didn’t fight for his child since his first wife cheated on him. And what his father, wife, and manager did to him… is sooo cruel, hu3.
Well, can’t wait for the 2nd book.
