Eve Harmon has always enjoyed Christmas, but this year it reminds her of everything she doesn’t have. Almost all her friends are married now, and that’s what Eve wants, too. Love. A husband and kids of her own. But the B and B she manages, and even Whiskey Creek, the small Gold Country town where she was born and raised, suddenly seem…confining.
Eve’s worried that her future will simply be a reflection of her past. There’s no one in the area she could even imagine as a husband—until a handsome stranger comes to town. Eve’s definitely attracted to him, and he seems to have the same reaction to her. But his darkly mysterious past could ruin Eve’s happily ever after—just when it finally seems within reach. And just when she’s counting on the best Christmas of her life!
Well, since I didn’t like Eve, it’s so for me hard to finish this book in a short time. But I think the story itself did not catch my attention like the other books of these series (except the Presley-Aaron one that I don’t like at all).
Even though I’m in a similar situation with Eve, but I couldn’t relate with her story with Rex. When her 35th birthday’s approached, Eve realized she already missed something she always wanted for so long: a baby and a family of her own.
After her birthday celebration, Eve woke up in the morning and found a complete stranger in her bed. She couldn’t remember anything happen the night before. But one thing for sure, the man happened to be a new guest in her parents’ Bed and Breakfast, his name was Rex.
Rex was a mysterious guy who came to Whiskey Creek and hide his past. Even though there’s some sparkling between him and Eve, but he try to ignore it and keep lying about his past to Eve.
One thing for sure, I never like Eve since the first time she appeared in Whiskey Creek series. So when she finally got her own stories, I’m not as interested to read it as some books before #sigh
Some characters became so annoying like Chey with her big fat lie that made me hate her since she decided to do her secret mission. As Eve’s ex, I thought Ted was too interfere in Eve’s life. Trust me, when a casual relationship happened in a circle of friends, the friendship wouldn’t be the same again.
The mystery of her B n B wasn’t good enough to catch my attention along the story. Actually Rex’s past seems so interesting, but I didn’t like the way the writer handle it. Uhm, it wasn’t smooth as I expected and I couldn’t enjoy it at all, hu3.
