Wade Dalton was having a very bad day.
His five-year-old had accidentally set the kitchen on fire. His daughter was surly, as usual. The baby hadn’t been fed yet. And his mother—aka “The Childminder”–had eloped…with a scam artist. Could it get any worse?
Turned out it could. Because the annoyingly beautiful daughter of said scam artist was now at the door, batting her doe eyes at him and proposing that she be his temporary nanny while awaiting the newlyweds’ return. Could he trust her to be under his roof? Could he trust himself with her under his roof?
It’s story about Wade, a widower with 3 children who had to face reality: his mother ran away with a stranger revealed to be Caroline’s father. Caroline came to Cold Creek in order to find his father who ran away with her client, Wade’s mom.
When Wade struggled with his current condition: without his mom to handle his children like she used to be and lot of works in the family ranch. Caroline offered him some help after his children made some scene that need an extra attention. Although he didn’t want her help, he had to agree that Caroline was such a good care taker for his children.
In a short time, Wade and Caroline became interested on each other. But they denied it even though Wade’s brothers, Jake and Seth tried to make them as real couple. After one big accident happened and made Caroline hurt, Wade opened himself to her slowly. When their parents came home, some misunderstanding happened and they had to go on their own way. One day one of them realize the mistake and had try to reach the other’s love.
Just gave me western love story involved cowboy and his ranch life, I’m in!
The story itself was typical Harlequin love story that didn’t involve too many problems in the story line. Here’s Caroline who slowly but sure fell in love with Wade who seemed too busy with his ranch work. Wade had some unforgettable past, but time would heal everything and he found a new love that made him realize: life wasn’t all about his 24 hours work in the ranch and forget everything, included his own children.
I like the interaction between Caroline and Wade’s children, especially the middle one who seemed became trouble maker of Wade’s family. The appearance of Jake and Seth as Wade’s brothers made me curious about their own love story
